FAQs

HOW DO WE BOOK?

Booking Taylormade couldn't be more simple!  Please complete our Enquiry Form and we'll get back to you as soon as we can with our availability and a quote.

Once you have decided you would like to go ahead and book then we will put together a booking agreement for both parties to sign. Once signed, this agreement will formally secure our services for your wedding day and you can sit down and relax.

DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT? WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?

To confirm your booking we request a 20% deposit. The remaining balance will be due 14 days before your wedding or event. Payment is easiest by bank transfer, however we can also accept credit card payments via PayPal. Please note PayPal charge a 5% fee.

CAN WE SEE YOU PLAYING LIVE?

Absolutely! Whilst many of our performances are at private events and weddings, we hold 2 or 3 showcase events a year for couples who would like to come along and see us performing live before they book.

It’s a great chance to meet us in person and a valuable opportunity to hear the band playing live, exactly how you will hear us on your wedding day. We also play live at various wedding venue open days so please check our 'SEE US LIVE' page for the latest dates.

DO YOU HAVE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE AND PAT CERTIFICATES?

Yes! As professional musicians we hold Public Liability Insurance to £10 million and all of our equipment is tested annually for electrical safety.

PLI and PAT certificates are an absolute necessity for many wedding venues and we can email copies of our certificates to you or your venue on request.

CAN YOU LEARN A SONG FOR OUR CEREMONY OR FIRST DANCE?

Absolutely! We are very happy to learn a song for you free of charge and perform this during your wedding ceremony or as a beautiful live performance of your first dance. As your friends and family are gathered around the dance floor this is always such a beautiful moment and to have your special song performed live brings the spark of magic that only live music could bring.

CAN YOU RECORD OUR AISLE WALK OR FIRST DANCE?

Couples often ask whether it is possible for Taylormade to record their first dance song or bridal entrance track and the answer is a big YES!

Whether recorded before your wedding so you can practice your first dance moves and rehearse the timing of the bridal entrance with your bridesmaids, or after your wedding as a beautiful keepsake of your special day, our recordings are guaranteed to evoke those romantic wedding day memories for years to come.

You could even add the recording to your gift registry for friends and family to purchase as a unique wedding gift or as a romantic gift for a wedding anniversary, a birthday, Valentine’s Day, or as a thoughtful Christmas present. Please take a look at our professional recordings page if you would like further info.

CAN WE CHOOSE THE SONGS YOU PLAY?

We’re very happy for you to choose your favourite songs from our Set List and we will incorporate as many of these as we can into our sets for you on your wedding day based on current rehearsals.

We do have some great mash-ups and medleys that we know get everyone on the dance floor and keep them there, so these, along with some of your choices, will make for an incredible set.

OUR VENUE HAS A SOUND LIMITER, IS THIS A PROBLEM?

No problem at all!

We regularly work with sound limiters and often use an electric drum kit to ensure we have absolute control over the volume, whilst still giving you the best quality of sound.

We always soundcheck against the sound limiter to make sure everything runs perfectly on the night and even have a state of the art digital mixing desk, which compresses the volume in real time so that the band can stay within certain parameters. If we have performed at your chosen venue previously, then we've already got the levels set to work at our best with the sound limiter. If your venue is new to us, we will be able to complete these checks quickly and efficiently to give you the best possible sound whilst adhering to the venue’s sound limit.

All we ask is that you let us know if your venue has a sound limiter installed in advance, and we’ll take care of the rest.

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?

Over the years we have built a fantastic reputation around our local area of the Midlands but do sometimes get asked to travel further afield. This is no problem at all but we will have to factor our travel costs and the time it takes to reach the wedding venue into the quote.

If the venue is over 2 hours drive from our base in Northamptonshire, then there is a good chance we may need to factor our accommodation in as well as it’s not ideal to drive for many hours in the early hours of the morning after giving our all on stage.

We will always tell you the exact quote before putting together the booking agreement and here will never be any unexpected additional costs once the booking is confirmed.

HOW LONG DO YOU NEED TO SET UP?

Our Acoustic Duo needs 45 minutes from the time of our arrival to being ready to go. This time is used to set up all of our equipment and conduct a full sound check to get the absolute best quality for your venue. We will then get changed, warm up vocals and bodies, and get ‘in the zone’ for our performance.

Our Live Band & DJ setup requires 1 hour 30 mins, from the time of our arrival to being ready to go. This time is used to set up all of our equipment and lighting and to conduct a full sound check to get the absolute best quality for your venue. Once the soundcheck is completed we will leave some background music on to build the atmosphere and will leave the stage area to get changed, warm up vocals, catch our breath and get ‘in the zone’ for our performance.

Please understand that the above time is absolutely essential so we can give you the very best performances.

If you would like us to arrive earlier than the above times for a Taylormade performance, then we can offer an 'Early Set-Up Service', charged hourly to cover our time. This is not necessary at 99% of the weddings or events we perform at, however, please ask us for full details if this is required.

CAN YOU RECOMMEND TIMINGS?

Every wedding is different, however from our experience we recommend the following as a great basis for timings:

  • 6:30pm - Band Arrive

  • 6:30pm - 8:00pm - Band Set Up & Complete Soundcheck

  • 8:00pm - First Dance

  • 8:00pm - Live Band Set 1 - 60 minutes

  • 9:00pm - Evening Food & DJ Set

  • 10.00pm - Live Band Set 2 - 60 minutes

  • 11.00pm - DJ Set

  • 12:00am - Music Finishes

We always recommend having just a short break between the live band sets, approximately 45 -60 minutes, to keep the evening flowing and everyone on the dance floor. We also recommend having the evening buffet between the live band sets as otherwise guests are torn between the dance floor and queueing for food, eat and chat etc.

HOW LONG DO YOU PLAY FOR?

We usually play 2 x 1-hour sets (or 3 x 40 minute sets) in the evening. We can play for longer if you would like, please let us know and we’ll get back to you with an exact quote.

DO I NEED TO BOOK A SEPARATE DJ?

Not at all! Our DJ set comes as standard with our Live Band and Full Day packages so there is no need to book a separate DJ.

WHO PROVIDES THE DJ SERVICE IN YOUR EVENING PACKAGES?

It’s our guitarist (Matt) that DJs for you on the night, so there are no third-party suppliers to worry about and no extra mouths to feed. The transition between the Live Band and DJ sets is slick and seamless, using the same state-of-the-art equipment we use for the Live Band, so you know the sound quality is going to be incredible too! Perhaps most importantly, there’s no additional PA system or extra equipment required, so with our packages, there’s no need to clutter up your beautiful wedding venue either!

DO YOU HAVE LIGHTING?

Absolutely! Full LED stage and dance floor lighting (from American DJ, Stairville) is included as standard. The lighting is linked by ‘DMX’ which synchronises the lights to create a fantastic party atmosphere. You can see a video of our lighting rig in action here.

We can even set our lighting to your wedding's colour theme.

DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL POWER REQUIREMENTS?

No. We require a minimum of 3 individual 13 amp (same as domestic) sockets near the stage area.

If your wedding is in a marquee or you are hiring electrical generators, we’re very happy to talk with your supplier directly about our power consumption.

ONCE WE BOOK YOU FOR OUR WEDDING, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

We’re very excited that we are going to be a part of your special day!

We've put together a page to help you with your planning and so you know what to expect from us leading up to the day.  Check out our ‘next steps’ page.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FUNNIEST MOMENT?

From dogs on the dancefloor to guests in the fountains, flash-mobs, and dancing with blow-up dolls (yes really!)... we have seen, heard, and worked with everything since we started with Taylormade! Maybe one day we will write a book about it…
