CAN YOU LEARN A SONG FOR OUR CEREMONY OR FIRST DANCE?
We’re very happy to learn a special song for you (free of charge). A popular choice is to have us perform the first dance as the acoustic duo, as this gives a really romantic feel to the moment.
Many couples also ask us to record our version of their song as a memory. Please contact us for details on this.
CAN WE CHOOSE THE SONGS YOU PLAY?
Yes, we’re happy for you to choose your favourite songs from our Set List.
We also have some great ‘tried and tested’ sets that we know will keep the dance floor full all night, so let us know the songs you want to hear (or don’t want!) and let us do the rest.
OUR VENUE HAS A SOUND LIMITER, IS THIS A PROBLEM?
No problem at all! Most venues now have sound limiters in place.
We regularly work with sound limiters and when required we can even use an electric drum kit to ensure we have absolute control over the volume, whilst still giving you the best quality of sound.
We always soundcheck against the limiter to make sure everything runs perfectly on the night!
HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL AND DO YOU REQUIRE ACCOMMODATION?
Over the years we have built a fantastic reputation around our local area of the Midlands but do sometimes get asked to travel further afield. This is no problem at all but we will have to factor our travel costs and the time it takes to reach the wedding venue into the quote.
If the venue is over a 2 hour drive away, then there is a good chance we may need to factor our accommodation in as well as it’s not ideal to drive for many hours in the early hours of the morning after giving our all on stage.
We will always tell you the exact quote before putting together the booking agreement. There will never be any unexpected additional costs once the booking is confirmed.
HOW LONG DO YOU NEED TO SET UP?
LIVE BAND & DJ:
The band always arrive at the venue an hour and a half before we are due to start our first set.
It usually takes around one hour to set up and complete a soundcheck to make sure everything sounds it’s best, and ensure the volume is right for the venue.
This can take a little longer depending on how easily we can get our equipment into the venue, whether the room is being ‘turned around’ by the venue, and how the stage area is arranged.
If you would like us to arrive and set up earlier, we do offer an 'Early Set Up Service', charged hourly to cover our time. This is not necessary at 99% of the weddings or events we perform at, however please ask us for details if this is required.
It's worth mentioning that it takes around an hour to set down our equipment. Therefore the latest the last set would finish is 11.00pm and we will continue the night with the DJ until 12.00am.
We can extend the timings of both the Live Wedding Band and DJ by request though, so please let us know at the time of booking.
Our Acoustic Duo takes around 45 minutes to set up and conduct a full sound check.
WHAT ARE THE BEST TIMINGS?
Every wedding is different, however from our experience we recommend the following:
6.30pm - Band arrive
7.30pm - Evening guests arrive
7.55pm- Cutting of the cake
8.00pm - First Dance
8.00pm-9.00pm - Band Set 1
9.00pm-9.45pm - Evening Food/DJ set
9.45pm - 10.45pm - Band Set 2
10.45pm - 12.00am - DJ Set
We always recommend having just a short break between the Live Band sets, approximately 30 - 45 minutes, to keep the evening flowing and everyone on the dance floor. We also recommend having the evening buffet between the Live Band sets as otherwise guests are torn between the dance floor and queueing for food, eat and chat etc.
HOW LONG DO YOU PLAY FOR?
We usually play 2 x 1 hour sets in the evening. We can play for longer if you would like, please let us know and we’ll get back to you with an exact quote.
DO YOU HAVE LIGHTS?
Yes we do! You can see a video of our lighting rig it in action here.
Our LED lighting rig has a white light 'disco ball' and professional light show DMX controlled 'intelligent' coloured dancefloor lighting, which synchronises to the beat to create a fantastic party atmosphere.
We light up the band and stage areas with LED up-lighters too, so you’ll be able to see and hear every word of our performance, and we can even set our lighting to your wedding's colour theme.
Our lighting package is included as standard for all of our Live Band and/or DJ bookings so please get in touch if you would like a quote.
All of our lights are LED based, which helps keeps power consumption to a minimum for marquee/tipi weddings.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL POWER REQUIREMENTS?
No. All we require is 2, ‘double’ 13 amp (same as domestic) sockets near the stage area.
If your wedding is in a marquee or you are hiring in electrical generators, we’re very happy to talk with your supplier directly.
HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?
Booking Taylormade couldn't be more simple! Please complete our enquiry form and we'll get back to you as soon as we can with our availability and a quote.
DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT? WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?
To confirm a booking we request a 20% deposit. We also put together a booking agreement which confirms all of the details of the day to give you peace of mind that we are officially booked for your wedding.
The remaining balance is then due 14 days before your wedding or event. We highly recommend payment be made via online banking/bank transfer, however we can also accept credit card payments via PayPal if you wish (please note there is a 5% fee to cover Paypal charges).
CAN WE SEE YOU PLAYING LIVE?
Absolutely! Whilst many of our gigs are private events and weddings, we hold special ‘Showcase’ events for exactly this reason.
We encourage all our potential clients to come along, as it’s a great chance to meet in person and hear the band live, exactly how you will hear us on your wedding day.
We also play live at various wedding venue open days. Please check our 'SEE US LIVE' page for the latest dates.
DO YOU HAVE PLI (PUBLIC LIABILITY) AND PAT (PORTABLE APPLIANCE) CERTIFICATES?
Yes - We’re professional in everything we do - we hold Public Liability Insurance to £10 million and our equipment is tested annually for electrical safety.
PLI and PAT certificates are an absolute necessity for many wedding venues. We can email copies of our certificates to you or your venue on request.
WE HAVE BOOKED YOU FOR OUR WEDDING, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Great! We’re looking forward to it!
We've put together a page to help you with your planning and so you know what to expect from us leading up to the day. Check out our 'What's Next' page.
I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION!
