Georgina and Daniel's Wedding - Salisbury Arts Centre - 6th May 2017
On 6th May we headed down to the breathtaking Salisbury Arts Centre in Wiltshire for Georgina and Daniel's Wedding Day.
Georgina and Daniel had booked us after seeing us performing live at a friends wedding at Dodmoor House in Northamptonshire, and had had such a fantastic time at that wedding that they booked straight away!
The Salisbury Arts Centre was formerly St Edmund’s Church, named after St Edmund who taught “the arts” in Oxford during the early 13th Century and was like no other we have played at.
The centre now hosts regular theatre groups and of course many celebrations and as you can see above is an amazing place for a wedding!
Daniel and Georgina's venue layout meant that we had to arrive much earlier than we normally would to set up and sound check before the evening guests arrived, as the stage area was right next to their Drinks Reception area.
We were very happy to offer our Early Set Up Service for them, to ensure we were set up and sound checked by 6.00pm as guests arrived.
WEDDING VENUE TIP: 99% of the time our Early Set Up Service is NOT needed for our Wedding Band, however if you are unsure about what's best for your Wedding Venue, please get in touch and we can work out the details.
The excited couple had asked us to learn 'Tunnels' by Arcade Fire for their First Dance, and it was an absolute pleasure for us to perform this for them as the acoustic duo on the huge stage under the beautiful stain glass window!
Straight after the First Dance we kicked off the 4 Piece Live Band with the light streaming in through the stain glass windows as the sun went down, it was a brilliant evening in amazing surroundings!
Daniel had sent us a list of his favourite tracks to make the day more personal to him and Georgina so we kicked off the night with Queen's 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love'.
Continuing with tracks from The Beatles, The Kinks and The Rolling Stones, it wasn't long before Daniel's 87 year old Grandmother was shaking her moves on the dance floor and showing the youngsters how it's done!
Between our sets, our cheeky TAYLORMADE drum skin even 'photo bombed' some pictures the guests were having....we can't take that drum skin anywhere without it causing trouble!
It was a fantastic evening for all and we'd like to say a massive congratulations to Georgina and Daniel, the brand new Mr and Mrs Van Der Leer, and wish them all the very best for their lives together!
THANK YOU'S:
Huge thanks go out to the audio/visual team at Salisbury Arts Centre for their services on the night. You guys rock!
Special thanks also go out to David Scammell Photography for taking these fantastic shots of us performing on Georgina and Daniel's special day.
Love, Carley and the boys! x
