Taylormade receive another 5 Star Review!

Kilworth House Hotel Wedding Band

Remember our Blog about the lovely Michelle and Paul's beautiful wedding at Kilworth House Hotel back in April?

Well Michelle and Paul left us this amazing 5 star review a little while back and we couldn't help but share! It says:

Wedding Band Review - Michelle and Paul

"Thank you so much for everything you did to make our wedding so special. The music during the drinks reception was perfect and so many people commented about the lovely relaxed atmosphere it created.

You have an amazing voice that comes across in every song.

The band in the evening were brilliant too, I didn't want the evening to end.

Special thank you for learning 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran for our first dance.

You are all brilliant and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone in the future.

Thanks again, Michelle and Paul."

Thank you so much Mr and Mrs Nicoll for your sweet words. We wish you all the very best for your lives together. Love, Carley and the boys xx

Jo and Kelvin's Wedding - Towcester Rugby Club, 13th May 2017

Taylormade Wedding Band - Towcester Rugby Club

We first met the lovely Jo and Kelvin when they came along to one of our Public Showcases in Daventry, and were so impressed by our performances that they confirmed on the spot for their wedding on 13th May 2017!

When the big day came, we were very excited to head the 20 minutes drive down the road to Towcester Rugby Club in Northamptonshire to perform for the brand new Mr and Mrs Dryden!

We started by performing a beautiful 45 minute set with our Acoustic Duo as the evening guests arrived, to bring a stunning atmosphere to the start of evening celebrations.

WEDDING DAY TIP: Having an early evening acoustic set as your evening guests arrive really adds a spark to the evening. It creates a beautiful atmosphere and really sets the tone for the night ahead, and unlike a DJ, it's discreet enough to still allow conversation to flow.

After the evening guests had arrived it was time for Jo and Kelvin's First Dance - Rule The World by Take That which we performed as the 4 Piece Live Band. It was an amazing moment as they took to the floor for their First Dance as Husband and Wife, and all of their friends and family joined them on the dance floor to celebrate the emotional moment.

Straight after the First Dance we kicked into the 4 Piece Live Band set to a packed dance floor, and the dancing didn't stop until we finished the night with our DJ at 12.00am! So much so that a few days later we received this glowing review from Jo on our Taylormade Duo and Live Band Facebook Page.

Taylormade Wedding Band Review - Jo Dryden

Jo's review says:

"Carley, I want to thank you and the band for your fantastic performance at our wedding, you were pivotal in creating the wedding we intended.

Your set was just perfect and you managed to keep everyone entertained for the afternoon and evening. You were sensational and I cannot recommend you highly enough!!"

Thank you so much for the lovely review Mrs Dryden! It really was a beautiful wedding and an absolute pleasure to be a part of your special day. We wish you both all the very best for your lives together with days filled with sunshine and laughter.

Lots of love,

Carley, Matt and the boys xx

Electric or Acoustic Drum Kit, that is the question!

Here's a lovely shot of the Taylormade 4 Piece Live Band set up at Michelle and Paul Nicoll's Wedding in the Cellar Bar at Kilworth House in Leicestershire on Saturday night (15th April 2017).

Those of you with a keen eye will see that we chose the electric drum kit for this performance. The reason for this is that the Cellar Bar is really cozy with beautiful exposed stone and low ceilings. This makes it a wonderful, atmospheric venue but can cause problem with the sound for inexperienced bands.

Here at Taylormade we've been professional musicians since 2008 and have performed at hundreds of Weddings and Events across Northamptonshire, and the whole of the UK. We've played in Barns, Churches, Glass Houses, Cellars, Orangeries and Chapels just to name a few!

Each of them have different acoustics so it's extremely important to have the option of an electric drum kit. Why, I hear you say? Well, if a room has low ceilings, maybe a lot of glass, perhaps lots of stone work or maybe even just not many soft furnishings, then there is nowhere for the sound to be absorbed. This means the sound bounces around, essentially creating a wall of noise and therefore there is no clarity to the performance. With an electric drum kit the sound is pushed towards the dance floor through the PA system, rather than bouncing around the room as it would with an acoustic drum kit.

Every Wedding Band should be able to offer you the choice of acoustic or electric kit because an acoustic drum kit does not suit every single wedding venue! If you're not sure whether to have the electric or acoustic drum kit at your wedding or event, please get in touch. Give me a call on 07976 096 347, email me on or contact us through the website. We can chat through the details and decide on the best option for your special day!

Viky & Tom's Wedding - Little Chalfont, Buckinghamshire

Wedding Flowers.jpg

A thank you gift of beautiful flowers from Viky and Tom's Wedding!

I was really chuffed to receive a beautiful and unexpected thank you gift (see photo above) from Viky and Tom whose Wedding we played at on 2nd July 2016 in Buckinghamshire.

We played in a marquee in the stunning grounds of the family home and it was one of the best Weddings we have ever played at!

Blimey did Viky and Tom and their guests know how to party! From head banging to The Killers 'Mr Brightside' to doing the twist to 'Twist and Shout' by The Beatles...these guys didn't leave the dance floor all night!

Thank you so much for the gorgeous flowers both, what a lucky girl I am and huge congratulations once again!

All the very best for the future.

Lots of love,

Carley and the band x
