The Return of 'Micro Weddings'?
We are eagerly awaiting the government's 'Roadmap’ out of lockdown which is due to be published on 22nd February. Whilst we do not know exact details just yet, we are expecting ‘micro weddings’ to be able to go ahead with a small number of guests, perhaps initially without an evening reception. But then as the most vulnerable are vaccinated and society starts to open up towards the summer, numbers are expected to increase significantly and weddings get back to normal.
Some of you who have weddings coming up over the next few months may have postponed 2 or 3 times already, and may be thinking of going ahead with a micro wedding as you just want to be husband and wife! We completely understand and want you to know that a smaller wedding can be just as beautiful as a wedding with larger numbers. The small number of people makes for a very special atmosphere, and since we’ve all been apart from our families for so long, having our closest friends and loved ones finally with us to celebrate the big day makes it even more precious.
Even if your evening reception cannot yet go ahead, you can still have the stunning soundtrack you had originally planned and fantastic entertainment for your guests during the day and this is where our acoustic duo comes in. We can perform during your wedding ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and even end the evening with a beautiful version of your first dance. In the video above you can see us performing a beautiful version of ‘A Thousand Years’ as the acoustic trio at Emily and James’ micro wedding in October 2020 at Mythe Barn.
As there are only 2 of us present, we can help keep your supplier numbers as low as possible. Our set up is also extremely compact, meaning we take up very little room so there are no concerns with social distancing making our acoustic duo the perfect choice for a micro wedding. Helping to create a feel-good vibe and magical atmosphere but without overpowering the occasion.
